Our Story
How a personal struggle with sleep became a mission to help everyone wake up better.
The Mission
Mornings shouldn't be a struggle. Yet for millions of people, the alarm clock is the worst part of their day — a jarring sound that rips them from deep sleep, leaving them groggy and disoriented.
Nooze exists to change that. By combining smart sleep cycle detection with intelligent wake timing and a gamified experience, we're making every morning the best part of your day.
How It Started
Nooze was born from personal experience with insomnia and poor sleep quality. Traditional alarms only made things worse — waking during deep sleep left me more exhausted than when I went to bed.
The insight was simple: what if an alarm could understand your sleep patterns and wake you at the perfect moment?
Sleep science has advanced significantly, but alarm technology hasn't kept up. Most alarm apps are just timers with fancy sounds. Nooze takes a fundamentally different approach by monitoring your actual sleep cycles and timing the alarm to your lightest sleep phase.
Then came the second insight: waking up is easier when it's rewarding. That's why Nooze adds gamification — XP, levels, challenges, and social features that turn the daily struggle of getting up into something you actually look forward to.
